THE TRANSLATION
An Evening where ‘Made in England’ once again stands for quality.
BFG, the legendary post punk band from Manchester based around vocalist BJ Williams and guitarist Mike Simmii, shows impressively during their guest performance at the Freiburg Slow Club the attraction and the format of British rock and pop music hand-crafting homogeneity convincing power and passion.
Williams and Simii, the Fathers of the band, founded in 1985, have reunited after about 30 years and are now making it clear with youngsters that age and being soft-spoken are not their concern. Together with two other guitarists, a bassist and a drummer, Williams and Simii practice a highly energetic and tightly styled style that unites the anthemic with the spaciousness of the new wave with drive and sometimes a subliminal punk grammar.
The baritone of the frontman charged with passion. Passion and intensity shine in the collaboration of the instrumentalists. The three guitarists create wild-moving sound waves. Bassist and drummer prove with their voluminous and virtuoso playing that British rhythm section are perhaps the best in Europe.
BFG transform the best moments of the 80s into today with their set.
In the pre-program, the quartet Todesstrahlen (Italy / Berlin), which was founded in 2015, enjoyed a stimulating, sex-addicted psychwave. A young gang, with vocals, guitar, synthesizer, bass and electronic drums on their way to their own language.
